Match Summary:-
Eastbourne Borough maintained their excellent unbeaten run with a 4-2 away victory at Weston-Super-Mare. 'The Seagulls' gave new signing Stuart Douglas a home debut and the player would not disappoint the home fans with 2 consolation goals.

In form Allan Tait opened the scoring for 'The Sports' after only 2 minutes. Neil Jenkins, Duncan McArthur and Paul Armstrong combined to finally feed the ball into the left had channel for Tait who's control, turn and 1st time shot sailed past Ryan Northmore and inside the left hand post.

Weston were playing for Conference South survival and 2 minutes later Lee Hook needed to be off his line quickly to claim a ball that just avoided Marc Pullan and was in danger of arriving at Douglas's feet. Craig Loxton supplied a wonderful left wing cross on 9 minutes for Gareth Hopkins and with only Hook to beat the big No 9. wasted the chance with a weak effort that Lee gathered easily. Weston continued to press for an equaliser and Ben Austin bravely blocked a goal bound effort. Boro soaked up the pressure and on 14 minutes the visitors extended their lead. Jenkins fed a beautiful ball to Andy Atkin. With the home defence appealing for 'offside' in vain the Boro No 9. turned and bent the ball past the diving Northmore and inside the right hand post. 2-0 Boro.

On 18 minutes Douglas gave Weston a lifeline in the game. He received the ball on the left-hand side of the Boro penalty area and smashed the ball past the outstretched Hook into the opposite top right-hand corner for 2-1.

Tait came close to extending the Boro lead when an Armstrong free-kick was headed just wide of the post. As the half closed Boro players were forced to demonstrate strength and self-control as a series of 'robust' tackles, several from behind, were dished out by the home side, but Atkin managed to get a shot away from an Austin cross that Northmore was forced to dive and gather.

As the 2nd half started Loxton troubled Hook early on but Northmore kept his side in it with an amazing point blank save from Tait after good work from McArthur and Harding. Boro were dominating possession and pressure but the game produced half-chances for both sides, Weston utilising Douglas's strength with early balls up to the front 2. The Weston defence finally cracked on 75 minutes as some fantastic 1 and 2 touch football through the middle of the park involving McArthur, Tait and Harding resulted in captain Armstrong bursting through the heart of the Weston defence and he placed the ball past the keeper for Boro's 3rd.

McArthur came close to scoring his 2nd goal of the season with an audacious lob from the centre circle on 79 minutes. The pace and direction were perfect with Northmore stranded but the ball dropped inches over the bar. A minute later Armstrong fed the ball wide left and Jenkins bombed forward from left back, played a quick 1-2 only for his early shot to be saved by the Weston keeper. The save was a block only and the Boro left back slid the rebound past Northmore for his 1st for 'The Sports' but the clubs 4th on the day.

Weston looked a beaten side with 3 goals required to salvage anything from the match but Douglas grabbed his 2nd of the match on 85 minutes when the ball dropped at his feet 6 yards out and he poked the ball past Hook.

Ramsay pulled a save from Northmore after being played in by Tait but after over 5 minutes of added time the whistle blew on a competitive game that saw 4 excellent goals on the road for Eastbourne Borough.
