Match Summary:-
The seasonal derby fixture .v. Lewes at Priory Lane saw both sides aiming to keep in touch with the play-off positions.

'The Sports' were on the attack early with Scott Ramsay playing Andy Atkin through but committed defending prevented a shot on target. Not to be out done Lewes were immediately on the counter and Simon Wormulls shot was high over the Boro bar. Atkin and Ramsay combined well throughout the game and Boro dominated the 1st 45 minutes and Paul Armstrong was unfortunate on 2 occasions when efforts from the 18 yard box failed to open the scoring. His 2nd attempt pulled a fantastic save from David Blackmore, diving to his left to push the shot away. Lewes were always in the game but played mostly on the break and never really troubled Lee Hook. Just as the half drew to a close with the scores level Boro made their pressure count. Playing on the break themselves Neil Jenkins ran the length of his half before bending a through ball into the path of Adam Wilde. Wilde got to the bye line and found Ramsay arriving late in the box. His powerful header took a deflection off Leon Legge and past Blackmore for the opening goal.

The 2nd half saw the visitors much more in the game and both sides had opportunities to score. The Boro defence were working hard to close Lewes down but Hook was required to make an excellent save on 55 minutes low to his left but was beaten on 72 minutes. This time the bar came to Boro's rescue and the score remained 1-0. On 84 minutes Legge was adjudged to have handled whilst diving to cut out a right wing cross. Ramsay smashed the penalty home to give the home side a 2 goal lead. On 87 minutes Jamie Cade pulled a goal back to but after some nervous minutes the home side held on. Ex Rook Jay Lovett was awarded M-O-M for his non stop commitment and versatility playing in several positions throughout the match.
