Match Summary:-
The Sports completed the last of 5 consecutive home games with a 0-0 draw. Hayes had won 3 of their last 5 matches, 2 away, and it appeared from the off that they had come to defend deep and attack on the break.

The 1st opportunity of the match came as Adam Wilde delivered a right wing corner that swung in the wind towards the goal. It appeared if he had scored direct but to be fair Kevin Davies in the Hayes goal had it covered. Boro were to spend much of the 1st 45 minutes camped in the Hayes half, the wind on their backs, but Hayes were organised and on 9 minutes a shot from Scott Ramsay after a good interchange with Pat Harding was blocked. Boro were playing some neat football, typified but a move that saw Ben Austin feed Ramsay who set-up Man of the Match Jay Lovett. Wilde met Lovetts deep cross but his shot across the face of the goal was out for a corner. Hayes best chance of the half came on 41 minutes when a left wing corner flashed across the 6 yard box but no striker could provide a finish.

Boro started the 2nd half strongly with another excellent move. Wilde, Matt Smart and Neil Jenkins provided an opportunity for Ramsay but again the Hayes defence blocked. On 54 minutes Hayes had their best moment of the game so far. Michael Bartley collected the ball in the Boro half and ran at the retreating defence. He unleashed a low drive to the right hand post but Lee Hook managed to push the ball out for a corner. 6 minutes later McAuley appeared to foul Jenkins on the Boro 18 yard box. He was allowed to play on and Hook was again required to make a save. McAuley again was a threat as a long ball found him and his rising strike was just over the bar. Bartley was a threat all game and his shot was turned onto the bar by Hook on 72 minutes.

The game swung from end to end in the final 20 minutes with chances for both sides but the score remained
