Match Summary:-
On a hot and humid afternoon, the superior fitness of Gravesend's full-timers ultimately told in what was a good workout for both sides. There was blow for Borough when Stuart Tuck limped off early on with a recurrence of a calf injury, with Scott Ramsay replacing him in defence.

After an uneventful opening twenty minutes Fleet's Charlie MacDonald muscled his way into the six yard box but was denied by Lee Hook; and the Borough keeper again did well on 30 minutes when he dived to turn a John Keeling header around the post.

Hook's counterpart Sam Mott had to be alert as he intercepted a cross by Jay Lovett just ahead of the lively Pat Harding but on 42 minutes Gravesend took the lead when Keeling touched home a ball from MacDonald at the far post.

The second half was predictably punctuated by numerous substitutions with interrupted the flow of the game. Allan Tait missed a couple of half-chances for Eastbourne, but Hook's replacement Lee Worgan was at fault when he spilled an effort from Keeling, and Mark DeBolla slotted home for the visitors.

Harding put the ball wide of the near post with twenty minutes remaining; and Lee Newman forced Mott to dive to his left on 80 minutes but Fleet were good value for their win.
