The Sports travelled to Kent for the 2nd pre season fixture and again fielded virtually 2 sides per half with substitutions and re-substitutions prominent in the 2nd half of the game. Visiting fans were looking forward to the test presented by the Rymans Premier club, and several eyebrows were raised when Tobi Huthchinson was erroneously listed in the Boro squad by Folkestone !.
The 1st half was dominated by the Boro 11 that featured only Marc Pullan, Paul Armstrong at right-back, Matt Crabb wide left and Pat Harding as recognisable regulars from last year.
As the 2nd half began, now with some more familiar faces in the side, a speculative long ball from the Invicta right-back allowed Ellis Remy to lob Lee Hook for the opening goal of the game. Paul Armstrong was back in his more familiar central midfield role and The Sports again applied pressure to the home defence. In the end a poor back-pass on 70 minutes allowed Scott to beat the advancing keeper to the ball and slide his shot home for the equaliser. 2 outstanding saves from the Folkestone keeper kept the scores level, Armstrong and Ramsay certain they had given the visitors the lead, before the referee drew the match to an end.
