The Eastbourne Borough Ladies' section was formed during the summer of 2004, and enjoyed a magnificent inaugural season, made even more remarkable by the fact that the majority of the squad consisted of players from the under 14 and 15 teams of the previous season, augmented by a couple of experienced players such as former England captain Deb Bampton OBE. One member of the squad, Daisy Leckie, was accepted into the Charlton Athletic Elite Academy.
2004/2005 The Ladies won the SCFA Womens' Section in 2004/05, during which they lost only one League game and finished nine points clear of runners-up Eastbourne Town Ladies. They also picked up 'Team of the Year' award in the annual Eastbourne Achievers' Awards. On Sunday 17 April 2005, the they completed a memorable 'treble' by winning the SCFA Womens' League Divisions 1 & 2 Knockout Cup
2005/2006 In 2005/06 the side competed in Division One West of the South East Counties Womens Football League and finished a creditable 3rd behind Meadow Sports and champions Bognor Regis Town.
2006/2007 The club again competed in the SECWFL Divison 1 West and improved their league position by 1 to 2nd, a single point behind eventual winners Woking Reserves, and were promoted to the Premier Division. In the League Cup the side exited at the semi-final stage to Lloyds and progressed to the final of the Junior Cup, losing 2-1 to Petts Wood. |
