Ben moved to Priory Lane during the 2000 close season from neighbours Eastbourne Town (Sussex County League), where he had been player of the year.
Voted Supporters' Player of the Season at Eastbourne Borough in 2000/01 and 2001/02, Ben is at home either in a defensive or midfield position. Sadly missed Sports' Sussex Senior Cup victory in 2002 after being rushed to hospital with appendicitis after the final League game of the season at Corby Town.
Ben's bad luck continued in 2003 when he was forced to miss much of the 2003/04 season after being diagnosed with two vertebral fractures. Ben is now back to his best having returned to the squad mid-way through 2004/05
