A cold Woodside Road welcomed Boro to the Sussex Senior Cup tie .v. Worthing; the home side were also determined to make the game uncomfortable; displaying great spirit and ability. Danny Brown skippered the side and Simon Johnson made his debut from the bench.

Worthing had several opportunities in the opening 45 minutes, most notably Jamie Brotherton firing at Lee Hook on 14 minutes and Mickey Demetriou on 36 minutes; Hook again saving 'The Sports' in a 1-on-1. Boro however took the lead on 18 minutes when Simon Wormull's low delivery from the right was not cleared by 'The Rebels' bak-line; Andy Atkin on hand to fire home; Alan mansfield only parrying the ball into the roof od the net.

Atkin hedaed over midway through the 2nd half before Matt Crabb and Jay Lovett's introduction brought immediate reward; Crabby combing with Neil Jenkins, Jenks's fabulous low cross evading all before Jay finished froma tight angle on 71 minutes. Boro dominated the rest of the tie, a Jenkins shot saved by Mansfield the best chance for the visitors.
