Boro came from behind to draw at a Tonbridge side keen to progress into the Conference divisions and fielding a squad full of names known to 'Sports' fans; John Westcott, Lee Worgan, Leon Legge, Carl Rook. Garry Wilson and Nick Greenwood continued with a pre-season 'rotation' as Paul Armstrong and Darren Baker started on the bench, Dominic Douglas partnering Marc Pullan at centre-back; Allan Tait back in a familiar role up-front.

Simon Wormull was to feature strongly at the start of the game but Boro's play was hampered slightly by pitch with surprisingly long grass. Wormull played an exquisite through ball to Andy Atkin on 3 minutes, Andy's shot was low but wide; and Worgan turned a low Wormull shot round the post seconds after the re-start. Ade Olurunda chipped over Chris Wintertons bar on 5 minutes and this heralded a 15 minute spell where the home side were in the ascendancy. This spell ended with Winterton rushing out to block an 'Angels' opportunity but for the rest of the half Boro's successful adjustment to the heat and pitch created several chances to open the scoring. on 21 minutes Ben Austin's excellent cross was turned wide by Atkin before Worgan made 3 fine saves from Tait, Mo Harkin and Tait again on 45 minutes.

Lee Hook returned in goal for the 2nd 45 minutes and saved well from Westcott in the opening exchanges. On 53 minutes Tonbridge took the lead as the visitors failed to clear their lines and Olurunda headed home from close range a right-wing cross.

Both sides made wholesale changes for the remainder of the game but Boro drew level on 63 minutes when a Matt Crabb effort was saved by the formidable Worgan only for Atkin to nod home the rebound.

Boro's pre-season continued with the 4th away fixture. Key personnel were rested as The Management attempted to provide opportunity to as many players as possible whilst also pursuing match fitness and integrating new players. No doubt the conditions assisted with conditioning and the unbeaten run continues as the final week before the real action approaches.
