Borough were provided with their sternest
test of the pre-season...with a visit to Havant &
Waterlooville....but, once again, Westleigh Park proved
to be a 'bogey' ground...as the 'Hawks' gained a 1-0 with
a goal from Rocky Baptiste. Borough began confidently...but
on 14 minutes an attack broke down and Havant found Baptiste
clear on the edge of the visitors area. With only Lee
Hook to beat, his first shot came back of the post, but
the striker made no mistake with the rebound. End to end
action saw both sides go close to increasing the goal
tally. Nathan Crabb and Pat Harding went close for Borough
in the first half, whilst Allan tait tested 'Hawks' keeper
Scriven with a low shot at the near post after the break.
Nathan Crabb had a goal disallowed for offside in the
second period, but, overall, this was a good and improving
display. The Borough side produced a determined performance....and
now have only one remaining friendly fixture before the
Blue Square Premier season gets underway.
