An enforced break due to frozen pitch and cup exits meant 'The Sports' had to wait nearly 2 weeks following the win at Lewes for their next competitive fixture. Management duo Garry Wilson and Nick Greenwood were no doubt glad of the rest afforded the squad and many were able to recuperate and rest tired legs and minds. The result was an extraordinary win to see the club through to the SSC semi-final.

Management changes at 'The Crows' possibly disrupted their preparations and the side found themselves 3 down after the opening 5 minutes. Nathan Crabb's effort was deflected past Ashley Pickworth before he grabbed his opening goal minutes later after an excellent neil jenkins run and shot. A moment later Nathan turned provider when he crossed deep for Andy Atkin to head back across goal for 3-0.

Boro were completely dominant with shot saved and inches wide before Atkin again headed home a right-wing cross; this time supplied by Ben Austin. On 22 minutes Nathan sprung the offside trap and fired through the keeper for 5-0 before Andy completed a hat-trick of headers on 24 minutes and the 1st half scoring.

Both sides made changes at half-time; Boro bringing on Simon Johnson and Idalio Santo for his competitive debut. Boro missed further chances before Nathan was brought down in the 6 yard box; Johnson scoring from the spot for his 1st goal for the club. On 54 minutes the visitors scored their consolation as Luke Piscina shot through a crowded penalty area for 7-1. Santo (Xano) made several excellent passes and strong runs; and he dragged a shot wide on 68 minutes before Atkin grabbed his 4th on 76 minutes with a close range back-heel. Jenkins shot from a tight angle; the ball looping into the far corner for 9-1 before Nathan matched Atkin's 4 on the night with 2 late finishes on 85 and 89 minutes to round up the scoring to 11-1.

Boro toiled earlier in the competition .v. Mile Oak but tonight were passionate, professional and clinical. Credit must be given to Crowborough who never gave up playing football or took frustration out on opposition but Boro were just too strong this evening as Boro opened 2009 at Priory Lane with a 'record' result.
