Following the 3-1 defeat in Cumbria Boro welcomed Barrow and their magnificent vocal support to Priory Lane for this FA Cup tie . Danny Brown, signed just the day before, made his Boro debut, partnering Matt Smart in central midfield who also skippered the side.

Boro started brightly and chances for Andy Atkin and Brown were all foiled by a combination of Alan Martin in the visitors goal and the frame itself before the clock registered 3 minutes. Jay Lovett even got in on the act with a 35 hyard effort from right-back again striking the crossbar. Boro were playing some excellent football, much of it being built from the back, Brown breaking up the Barrow play but also distributing the ball effectively. One such move involving ended with Atkin nodding down a Pat Harding cross just beyong strike partner Allan Tait. Harding struck over the bar from distance on 28 minutes before Barrow had their best chance of the half. Striker Richard Brodie found himself with a 1-on-1 with Lee Hook and many thought that despite their dominance Boro were about to fall behind. The front-man howere failed to beat Hook, the Boro keeper blocking the drive, and as the rebound fell to a Barrow player supporting Brodie, the visitors composure failed and the shot was wide of the left-hand post. As the half drew to an end both sides had chances to score. Harding's shot was spilled by Martin but there was no follow up to finish the move; and Barrow failed to finish a goal mouth scramble - the score remained 0-0.

With the wind now on their backs the 2nd half was better for Barrow and carlos Logan whipped in a fine free-kick that was deflected inches wide on 46 minutes. Another goal mouth scramble finished with David Brown shooting through a crowd direct at Hook. The woodwork came to Boro's aid on 62 minutes as Brodie's flick header struck the bar before 'The Sports' began to regain ascendancy. Matt Crabb's cross-shot required Martin to punch clear and a fabulous through ball from Darren Baker allowed Tait to strike; the shot on target deflected for a corner. Matt Crabb tested Martin and again the keeper spilled; Matt's younger brother Nathan also tried his luck but his curling shot was wide before both sides worked half-chances; the scores remaing level as Mr. Creighton blew for full-time.

Both sets of fans departed Priory Lane having witnessed an entertaining tie played in a fantastic atmosphere. In times past the fans would await the draw in the bar eager for their name to be 'pulled from the hat'. This season most witness the draw in the comfort of the living room - however the game was disected as fans of both sides mixed in the Priory lane clubhouse; Boro fans no dougt working out the logistics of a midweek trip to Holker Street.
