Football returned to Priory Lane this
afternoon with the christening of the new pitch.
Borough completed the pre-season programme
with a 1-0 win over Blue Square South promotion hopefuls
Bromley. The Borough squad produced a sound display against
strong opposition, including ex-Eastbourne players Mark
Corneille and Louis Fazakerly.
In an entertaining encounter, it appeared
that the game was heading for a goalless draw when Darren
Baker scambled the ball home from close range, after Bromley
had failed to clear a corner. Jean-Michel Sigere went
close..but failed to beat Bromley keeper Gareth Williams
in a one-on-one with the 'Lillywhites' responding by hitting
the Borough crossbar.
