| Boro's long
wait for a win finally ended in Welling as the side progressed
in the FA Trophy. Liam Enver-Marum continued his rich vein
of form grabbing the all important winner, and importantly
suspensions were served out through this game and Nathan
Crabb made a welcome return to the squad as an un-used substitute

Liam headed a jamie Taylor
cross wide on 8 minutes as Boro kicked down the PVR hill.
Boro dominated the opening exchanges and Enver-Marum showed
strength and persistence to open the scoring when he finally
finished off a 1-on-1 : 1-0 The Sports.

Welling eventually got back
into the game and Tony Finn smacked a free-kick into a Boro
wall on 22 minutes. The game swung from end to end before
the lead was almost lost on 27 minutes as a right-wing delivery
found Graeme Andrews in acres of space in the 6 yard box,
but with only Danny Knowles to beat he blasted over !

The 2nd 45 started with Loui
Fazakerley, a name well known to Boro fans, chipping across
the face of the Boro goal, but Neil jenkins responded with
a low drive saved by Mitten. Jamie Taylor shot wide before
Knowles kept his side in the game with an excellent save
from Andy Pugh, the number 10 having raced clear of the
Sports back-four.

Boro were definitely on the
back foot as the ball was cleared high and handsome in a
goal mouth scramble and Knowles pulled off his 2nd fantastic
save of the game, turning a drive from distance round the
post for a corner.

The game became disjointed
as the half wore on Fazakerley doing his best to get his
side level and Enver-Marum just inches off side as he raced
up the hill free from his marker. There was to be no late
drama however and Boro progressed against a side who have
shown great form of late - the next name out of the hat
awaits.
