The Sports continued their exploits away
from Priory Lane with a trip to Staffordshire and their
1st visit to The Lamb Ground. Andy Atkin was replaced
in the starting XI by Nathan Crabb but it was the hosts
off to a flying start, Neil Mackenzie's free-kick just
wide of Danny Knowles post but Iyseden Christie gave his
side the lead on 5 minutes when he finished from close
range as Boro failed to clear their lines.
Boro settled after this and some excellent
approach play saw Nathan Crabb feed Liam Enver-Marum in
the 18 yard box, the Boro 10. forced wide and chance was
gone. Enver-Marum's flicked header from a Simon Johnson
cross was saved by Chamberlin Frankem but The Sports were
level 7 minutes before the break. A right-wing corner
was headed goal ward by Garry Elphick. His effort was
cleared off the line but Ben Austin rifled the ball back
and into the net off the under side of the bar - 1 all.
Boro were on top and Jamie Taylor was only denied by a
last ditch block as the side drew to a close.
The 2nd 45 saw Boro attacking up the slope
and Enver-Marum was unlucky to see Frankem save his effort
on 71 minutes. In a rare attack for the hosts Boro were
grateful to Matt Crabb once again as he hooked the ball
off the line for the 2nd Saturday in a row - his immaculate
positioning keeping the scores level.
Enver-Marum was again denied by Frankem
as his strong run took him into the box, the keeper saving
low at the near post.
