Boro made the trip into
deepest Wiltshire to meet old foes Salisbury City: the
hosts not having won in 3 and Boro hoping to pick up points
on the road. Neil jenkins was missing due to injury -
Matt Smart taking the place of skipper Paul Armstrong.

Matt Crabb delivered a
brace of corners into The Whites penalty area but last
ditch defending prevented an early score for Boro. Salisbury
came back at Boro however and a close range header was
spurned by the hosts just a moment later. Ban Austin crossed
from the right to the near post on the 1/4 hour and Andy
Atkin was unfortunate to put his header inches wide.

Boro continued to create
half-chances but in general the side looked disjointed
and James Bittner was not severely tested until on the
stroke of half-time Atkin's point blank header produced
a remarkable one handed save from the Salisbury stopper.

Danny Knowles punched
off a City head as the half opened well for the hosts;
Dan Smith replaced by Nathan Crabb early on in this 2nd
period. Boro improved and jamie Taylor's quick turn and
shot was saved well; but there was no denying Boro's opener.
For the 2nd time this season Simon Weatherstone allowed
an opposition keeper no chance as his effort flew into
the top corner from 30 + yards, 1-0 Boro.

Atkin had a strong penalty
claim when he made use of confusion in the heart of the
home defence. He nodded the ball wide under pressure but
was pole axed by the keeper who was unbelievably late.
Andy received treatment but the referee completely ignored
the 'late' challenge to the annoyance of Boro fans and
players combined ! Boro continued to play well and create
chances; Atkin off the post before being replaced by Liam
Enver-Marum. The Boro No. 10 made a strong run and cross,
Taylor was dispossessed by the excellent Turley when through
on goal but as the clock ran down 4 minutes were added
on and Salisbury capitalised with a free header deep into
the extra-time.

Disappointment at the
dropped points was writ large on the squads faces as they
left the field, the 1st away point scant reward for a
decent 2nd half and wonderful strike from Weatherstone.
